Letter from the Chairman

September is a great time for reflection. Those of us in the tourism and hospitality industry have just completed a busy summer. The kids are headed back to school and for a brief period of time, we can take a break. But don't relax for too long! Did you know that there are only 91 days separating September and December? That means that there are only 86 days until Thanksgiving and 107 days until Christmas!! Forget what I said about relaxing, it's time to start planning holiday parties, booking events, making lists and checking them twice...and of course getting into shape for the AAHA 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 17!! Please forgive the shameless plug.
Reminder, Labor Day is Monday, September 7th. All of us on the AAHA Board wish that you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend and enjoy the time off with your family and friends!

Karen Bippert, CTA, CTE
2015 Chairman

Gizmo has a message!
AAHA Community Outreach

Hi Everyone,

My name is Gizmo and I'm asking for your help to give back to the great fund that saved my life.
On April 3, 2015 my Daddy (Rudy Saenz) had to rush me to the vet hospital as I was found lying near death at home. The great doctors at Texas Veterinary Hospital told my Daddy that I had bladder stones; this condition is very common in male cats. To make a long story short, my Daddy was given two treatment options: (1) surgery - that came with price of $1800 (2) catheterization - with a lower price tag about $500. Thanks to the assistance of the Angel Fund I was treated and now I'm a healthy two-year old. So, I'm asking for your help in supporting the Angel Fund in hopes that other fur-babies can live a long health happy life, like me.Thank you for your help.
The purpose of the Texas Veterinary Hospital Angel Fund is to help animals in critical need of medical attention whose owners can't afford care or who have abandoned them. Your donation can provide life-saving fluids, medicines and treatments for needy pets.
Donations can be in the form of cash or check (payable to AAHA). You may also donate items for dogs or cats including: towels, blankets, food, toys and bedding.
AAHA GIVES BACK will be collecting at this month's luncheon.
