Greetings from the
Alamo Area Hospitality Association

The turkey has been eaten and the desserts enjoyed. December is around the corner and there are festivities in air!

2012 has been a terrific year and we hope that 2013 brings even more incredible opportunities and memories for each of you.

Join us in December at our Holiday Luncheon as we make our new board member announcements.

See you there!

November Luncheon at
Aldaco's Sunset Station

Thank you to our friends at Aldaco's Sunset Station for our November luncheon. Our featured guest speaker was Rick Hill, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Rick was accompanied by Lara Smedley, Senior Manager, Events Marketing; with the Valero Alamo Bowl.  They spoke about this year's 20th annual game that will match-up teams from the Big 12 and Pac-12 conference on Saturday, December 29 at 5:45 p.m.  As the regular season ends, the prospects are bright for a pair of high profile, Top 25 teams to come to San Antonio.

In conjunction with the announcement of which teams are playing on Sunday, December 2, the bowl will release a webisode they produced called the "San Antonio Challenge." It shows how easily two tourists can travel from the airport to the their hotel and visit four local attractions in a hour. The bowl encouraged everyone to utilize the entertaining video in their digital efforts to show how compact and connected our city is.

Speaking of digital, the Valero Alamo Bowl rolled out their new mobile website and have a Downtown Partners tab designed to highlight businesses to the estimated 30,000 out-of-town visitors coming for Bowl Week. To be included, please call Lara at 210-704-6391.

It's a Heart Attack!
Last month members of the Alamo Area Hospitality Association, with the idea and encouragement of AAHA Board Member David Uminski, presented Michelle Moon, Chairman of AAHA with a "Heart Attack".  Michelle has been out on maternity leave with her new daughter Piper and what a clever way to show her how much she is loved.  Members filled out paper construction hearts with well wishes and speedy recovery thoughts and David launched a surprise attack on her home.

We miss you Michelle and look forward to seeing you again soon!
