Letter from the Chairman

During the week of May 2-10, San Antonio will celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW). Every year, cities across the U.S. celebrate the power of the travel and tourism industry. Travel and tourism are major contributors to San Antonio's livelihood. Just look at the impact of the San Antonio Travel Effect:

  • Travel and tourism is one of five leading industries in San Antonio
  • San Antonio hosts over 31 million visitors per year
  • Visitors create an influx of $13.4 billion into the local economy
  • Travel supports more than 122,500 jobs in San Antonio
  • 1 in 8 jobs in San Antonio depends on travel and tourism

The numbers are staggering! Please join us in celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week and check out all of the upcoming NTTW events throughout the city. Visit the official San Antonio NTTW website at: www.visitsanantonio.com/nttw.  #NTTW15

Get a grip on this!
Natural Bridge Caverns

Natural Bridge Caverns presents the Canopy Challenge & Zip Lines. It's three activities in one!

On the Canopy Explorer, you'll have up to 30 minutes to grapple your way to the top of our 60-foot, four-tier adventure course. Test your agility, balance and strength on 47 fascinating obstacles (like the Burma Buckets and Criss-Cross Tight Ropes). Just for the little ones, there's also a Canopy Kids Course that's specifically designed for toddlers and young kids.

Then, if you dare, take a ride on the zip lines, gliding high above the Texas Hill Country. Snap in to your harness, step to the edge of the zip line platform, raise your feet and - sail across the landscape. The thrill of the ride is matched by the beauty of your surroundings, a natural experience of flight.

The Canopy Challenge is open daily, weather permitting from 10:00 AM until the last cavern tour of the day departs. Please call (210) 651-6101 for weather conditions.

Come to Natural Bridge Caverns and take the Challenge!

Discovery Point New Home for Dolphins
SeaWorld New Dolphin Habitat

The dolphin habitat will be dramatically transformed into two new ways to experience dolphins. First, SeaWorld guests will finally be able to go beneath the water's surface to see dolphins swimming and playing underwater. Large viewing panes for underwater viewing will allow guests to see how these magnificent creatures swim, interact and play from an entirely new vantage point. But the most dramatic change to this area is the introduction of a new facility that will allow guests to swim with dolphins in a natural environment. The new addition, will be named Discovery Point.

This project reflects SeaWorld's ongoing commitment to improve its animal habitats while providing new ways for guests to make connections with the animals in its care. Updates to the park's dolphin pools will nearly double the water volume of the habitat, enlarging the pool to hold more than 600,000 gallons.
