Greetings from the
Alamo Area Hospitality Association

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

So thank you for your hard work and efforts and we wish you a safe and restful day off on Monday!

August luncheon at the Guenther House

Alamo Area Hospitality Association

Thank you to our friends at the Guenther House for our August luncheon. Our featured guest speaker was Tina Stohlhandske with River City Run.

Looking for a unique, active way to see San Antonio? You have found the right place. River City Run is a 5K course through the heart of San Antonio that takes you through downtown San Antonio where you can run and see the sights of this great city.

Tina spoke of her organization, it's history and what it's all about. Tina and her husband Tommy founded the running group in June 2012.  What makes their runs so unique is that they incorporate a tour of San Antonio in their route. They offer private runs as well. Check out River City Run and schedule your 5K today.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
Alamo Area Hospitality Association
Teals for Toes' mission is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer. How?  By painting your toenails teal, the ovarian cancer color.  By getting your friends to paint their toenails teal too, and then by talking with people when they ask about it, to make sure that they know the signs of this whispering killer. Any time of year is good for teal toes, but they especially recommend September, the ovarian cancer awareness month.

Make a fashion statement. Wear teal, the official color of ovarian cancer awareness, on September 2--Teal Day--to show your support.

To begin your application process, visit globalentry.gov, you will be notified to schedule an in-person interview with CBP; while the nearest enrollment centers are based in Dallas and Houston, CBP will schedule dates to provide interviews in San Antonio.
